Heart behind bars

Heart behind bars

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder
"

Written April 13, 2016

"
Inside a jail I've never been,
But my heart sits behind bars
My pupils have been thrown in the hole,
And I haven't the sun or a friend,
The moon or the stars,
And only a bunk to call my home.

A heart behind bars is not one that has freedom of movement or expression in my opinion. Something sad has happened here, that I am sure of. Could be a depression, if the pupils can see no light. I hope this is fiction my friend.
