Convict to a crucifixion

Convict to a crucifixion

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

"
I am a man of conviction, but I don't play convict to a crucifixion;
what about Spartacus' ascension, was it not of perfect intention?
To have man live free and winsome?
I am not so fixed, as not to believe in fragments of several godly interdictions, which are injunctions of the boldest contention;
but to believe that God tabbed me to strap a jacket on or build bombs of nuclear proportions,
just to rob or impute democratic mission, well I never read that commission in the testaments of true prophethood.
But men reading and understanding books, never really did or could.
Tribalism and culture was always more his brew,
to imbibe and use to become crooks.
