On whose back do you chew?

On whose back do you chew?

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder
"

Back-biting

"
On whose back do you chew?
Step back,
Get in line,
Rank-and-file hack;
Take your place in the queue,
At the back.
You deserve to be last.
Who do you think you are,
Slandering another man's
Good deeds and acts?
There's a reason I am me
And you are you;
Your words conspired,
they abused, until they slew!
Et tu, Brute?!
If I only knew you'd collude
To slay Caesar,
I'd have sent you away,
In exile for the rest
Of your days, to retire.
If only I knew...
