Politics, always remember to flush

Politics, always remember to flush

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

I think I speak for the very few
When I say we live in an era
That suppresses the truth
While that process takes place,
And people decide which bathroom
To use, where best to defecate,
The camera always pans
To problems least relevant:
Penis and vaj,
Johns becoming Jans
And Jans becoming Stans
Not on murder in faraway lands,
But to a woman who desires
To piss beside a man, and vice versa
Why is the choice to choose
The measure of if we win or lose?
While men decide which brassiere
Frames her reconstructed b***s,
Women, men and children
convinced of who they were,
Die tortured; doctors and nurses
Are butchered and burnt,
While we wipe our asses in a rage
Over the trans installed next door,
Good people are dying in Aleppo,
Baghdad and Deir ez-Zor.
Welcome to the toilet of our humanity,
it's absolute insanity,
Don't forget to leave the toilet seat up,
And always remember to flush!
