World of SnakesA Poem by MaxwellEmersonConstant hissing Slithering about the hallways and streets Don’t get bitten Their venom is one that deteriorates the mind It makes you lose your sense compassion It’ll burn you to your core You’ll start to blame yourself for things not in your control These snakes feed on other people’s despair They’re even cannibalistic in this activity The only antivenin is time and kindness How can we identify these serpents? Simple, everyone is a snake. © 2015 MaxwellEmerson |
