Fires, and Oceans of DarknessA Poem by Max64A poem taken from my novel "More Than One Begnning." An existential look from a character's POV on a memory that only comes during times of dream,.I am naked in an ocean of darkness. I am floating with a giant fire that consumes all; but does not consume me. There is no air and I am not for want. I float. And float. And float. And then I am failing, without falling. I am propelled through the ocean of total night; there is something here with me of which I am aware. A great thing. A wondrous thing. A thing that is becoming no more. What was is between being and not being, and I am and was part, and no longer am. As I float, and fall, propelled. Without sound. Toward the great fire that warms but does not consume. Another light. Beneath and within me. Great but not as great as the fire. She is behind the Sun. Always. And I am in front. Unable to do anything but fall ... or float And fall and fall. Floating. Falling. The world ends around me a millionth time. One million times another one million. And there is always the Sun. And there is always that which is beyond the Sun. © 2014 Max64Reviews
