A Call To Reason

A Call To Reason

A Poem by Max Whipple III
"

Original sin chases us toward a self-fulfilling prophecy..

"

All the worlds malice twirls in the eyes of humanity

acknowledged underfoot as the truth on which our senses tread

a porous conscription into the file of unmalleable miscreants

demagoguery confounding intent into submission and guilt

a facilitation to the absolution of introspective dialogue

An heirloom of unquestioned rehearsal prevailing through

perennial inundation and erosion of the public sensorium

perverse caricatures orchestrating perfunctory banality

the rust of human existence eschewed by fantastical diversion

perpetuating procrastination through pseudo-prophetic inevitabilities

harmful insulation from the realities of our condition

only unanswered questions are to be investigated

but those who know-all through ignorance,

pay no heed
