A Tradgedy

A Tradgedy

A Poem by MIngram
"

We must stay true to ourselves no matter the circumstance. In the end, it is all that matters.

"

How can we claim to be mentally stable

If the supposed ideal is that we are always looking for ourselves?

And when-if- we do find us

We-epiphany forgone

Begin to see that what we have been searching

Has not been for ourselves " but for what we aspired

Leaving all admiration of our imitated achievement

Hanging by a string- waiting for the next poor soul to snatch it from us

And then- one day- we will look in the mirror

And know we had it all at our fingertips

Fumbled by the insecurity that a bold life poses

Safely harbored by a cowards web

Continually spinning until we turn to dust

And then-when we think it is all said and done

We realize that we will never be what we used to

Before dreams were strictly secular and the road ahead didn’t yield

They say introspection is where truth exists, but what say you about looking inside a bit too hard and perhaps losing our minds. Well penned.
