My Friend

My Friend

A Poem by Max F.

My Friend

If ever your world seem undone,

and pain threaten to overtake,

and joy seem in peril,

and of Jesus you would partake,

Have faith for another breath,

of the air of freedom and love,

and let your heart stay strong,

with strength which comes from above.

Let the fabric of our raiment,

be the might of Jesus blood,

the flesh which bares his scars,

and our tears from whence he stood.

Time is both bitter and sweet,

but, I assure you that on this day,

yours is the strength of the ages,

and with you, I ever pray.
