Emotionless

Emotionless

A Poem by Mavis Bard

To the ends of the earth
Or wherever you would like
I’ll fly away with you
I’ll make you feel right
In liquid dreams
We swim alone
Your lips to mine
I’ve always known
Hey there
I am you
You there
You are me
Hey girl
I want you
Kiss curl
Completely
The gods of this world
Take you away from me
But I’ve fought them back
Just for me to see
Your thoughts are running
On an empty plain
And all the monsters hold
Their parasols in vain
All is lost
But lost is found
I’ve found your lot
Upon the ground
Hey there
I am you
You there
You are me
Hey girl
I want you
Kiss curl
Completely
In corner of the world
I find your smile
I’m your savior
But all the while
The confusing thrill of warmth
Is now as cold as ice
My skin cracks open
Right before your very eyes
My mind caves under
To the tone of a subtle cry
And now I remember
My progressive lullaby
Tongue to tongue
Eye to eye
Hold me tight
Lullaby
Hey there
I am you
You there
You are me
Hey girl
I want you
Kiss curl
Completely

I know how to make you cry

If you cannot love then you cannot lie

You know how to let me go

If I didn't try how did I know?

I am the monster inside your dreams

That suffocates your silent screams

A nightmare sugar-coated lullaby

Behold the reins that slowly die
