I feel the pain
I feel the pain
With nothing to gain
I feel the pain
I hear the heavens
Cry, crying
Over the pain
You preach the truth
Or so you say to me
But if it’s okay for you to be gay
Why will I burn for my adultery
Well I have a new home-grown religion
It’s a fifty-two inch screen television
Without your morals you’re unable
To stop me now cause I have cable
You can’t break my mind
‘cos it’s already broken
You swank your pride
And call for peace today
But war continues to run amuck
And the soldiers are boxed inside their graves
Well imagine a repulsive life
If I was your demented wife
I’d rip out your corrupted eyes
So you can bleed our pain through your lies
You can’t crack my mind
‘cos it’s already crushed
And if I was superhuman
I’d butcher you to pieces
But I can’t ‘cos I’m just human
With a shattered mind in scattered pieces
Love the last stanza, especially the last two lines, because we could butcher someone to pieces, hypothetically, but hardly anyone would have the courage or the indifference to evil to go through with it. Your poetry is sharp, and quick, it bursts with its diction, and obviously there is a lot of emotion here. I certainly enjoyed this!
