Only those who die young require a metaphor

It is only human to wish 

for a distribution 

of fairness 

which

is equal

for everyone.  

But 

the truth

(of course)

is that the human 

heart

beats 

ninety-five 

years 

for some,

and for others it

stops finally 

at 

nineteen.

While writing poetry is a far cry from my meager arsenal of talents, I can read and appreciate it! I adore the title and, for whatever its worth, the poem hit home with me. Beautiful. Heartbreaking but beautiful.

I like the shortness of this; sometimes all you need is a few words to drive your point. I can't say much due to my lack of expertise at poetry, but I certainly hope I'd be seeing more.
