THE BRIDE

THE BRIDE

A Poem by Maumil Mehraj

THE BRIDE

Someone had fallen in love,
the celestial sphere realized.
So it craned its hazy neck,
to witness who it was.
There it saw a bride,
angelic - her beauty divine.
She had bowed her head,
but not because she was shy.
In her finger she wore a ring,
which reflected her beauty sublime.
She couldn't help but stare,
her glowing, flushed face.
While others thought she was timid,
too scared to look people in the eye.
The celestial sphere realized,
that someone had fallen in love - with her
self!

A new dawn in the life of an erstwhile wallflower - this is the birth of a butterfly Maumil.
Excellent twist at the end. well penned my friend.
I especially loved that 'celestial sphere' reference and had to research that - thank you

a beautiful poem Maumil, I was lazily drifting along on the sheer loveliness of it and then 'Wham' i was hit by those last words 'with herself!' is this a cynical view of the bride I ask myself, you created a great concept of the celestial sphere gazing down on us, I was entranced from the start and the photo of a bride was a beauty to behold, yes I like it very much :)
