FragmentsA Poem by MaulthThe fragments of my heart pierces my very soul.Simplicity does not define that which I long for most Nor can I describe the emotions that have served as an unyielding familiar For I am lost along a sea of forbidden memories with no sign of coast Forgotten, forsaken, I am forfeited to a desolate existence with no deliverer
With a heavy sigh, the shards of my broken heart move within my chest Throwing into sharp relief pain, and anger, I should have overcome Yet my world still revolves around you, into my soul I feel the brand pressed My thoughts never straying from you, my tireless mind never believing the sum
Regret, remorse, these are just words etched onto a crumpled piece of paper Letters thrown together to attempt to immortalize an emotion that I cannot understand Slowly the fog of apathy threatens to overwhelm, a most vile and arduous vapor But you were my only light, and through my tireless existence shall memory be spanned
My world is afire, burning throughout day and night, leaving naught but sour ash Searing flames that ignite the payload of my heart, refusing to be extinguished Cascading into some primordial madness, the flames climax with an audible flash Clutching my the fragments of my shattered heart, my love for you I refuse to relinquish © 2012 MaulthAuthor's Note
