The Verge

The Verge

A Poem by Maulth
"

What happens when one teeters on the edge between insanity and utter destruction?

"
Shattered pieces fall before my agonized eyes
Little glimmering shards of my one-time dreams
Robbing me of peace, despair filling the divide
A sweet caress turned sour ash in the basest of means

I stand squarely upon the brink of this uncaring verge
Teetering between forlorn longing and unassailable anger
Relinquishing no pain as continues my poisonous dirge
a disastrous ballad in time with an unspeakable danger

A dastardly bond reborn of an insatiable heart
Keenly playing upon the hopes of an unsound mind
Loves causality a dreadful parasite upon a reopened scar
Loves casualty another soul rendered broken in kind

As the descent begins, the roar of silence fills my ears
Over the edge I fall, hurtling toward the presense of none
The fire of my life extinguished, distilling all my fears
All for the bitter crusade of having found the one

Author's Note

Maulth
Please note that I purposely used "Causality" and "Casualty". So as to not get them confused, and mistakenly assume I used one or the other twice.
