EndureA Poem by MaulthI was so naive to believe that I could accomplish this. This is a poem about Strength in oneself.
Once upon a time I believed this was far from over
That I could somehow fight through all the resent I somehow felt that it would change once I was older Now I see my heart is just a shattered remnant My devotion was rewarded with unyielding scorn A seed of hatred that couldn’t make up the sum Blossoming now, my frozen heart shall mourn I will forever be destined to hate what you’ve become A pain, the greatest I have ever felt, begins to unfold I can feel it spreading throughout what is left of me Encasing the heart I once knew, a permanent mould It is through these tortured eyes I refuse to see In the end, maybe I wasn’t in love with you afterall Maybe it was just the thought of what you were Nevertheless, the pain is powerful, the pain is raw I love you, yet without you, I must, and will, endure © 2011 MaulthReviews
