A Battle I Cannot Win

A Battle I Cannot Win

A Poem by Maulth
"

When the restlessness of the mind will allow no other thought but Love not reciprocated.

"
The boundless sea rises and falls, churning.
For far too long I have felt weighted,
A longing deep inside, a passion burning.
A hunger within that cannot be satiated.

Hope is slowly strangling me, a tightening noose.
Giving way to an invalid liberation of my mind.
If only I could account these feelings to a ruse.
Where is my messiah now? I have an axe to grind.

Desolate words written on a blank page,
The ink fading to naught but a memory.
These words are my prison, my cage.
My love is now dimly shimmering.

The sea will soon wash away it all.
I will begin the journey once again.
From my heightened perch I shall fall.
This is a battle that I will never win.
