The Beginning of Hope: Sequence 3

Rain Hope Barnaby finally gets her date that she hoped for....But is it really what she hoped for???

Rain: (Looking out the window dressed in a satin white dress, her hair in big curls and let down...She sees Jason pull up in his Lexus SUV and beep the horn...She runs in a panic) Come on guys...Don't you think this (Opening her arms and looking down at the dress) is a little overdoing it for a first date???

Tyler: (Rolling his eyes as his parents tell her how beautiful she looks and grabs her by the shoulder, guiding her to the front door) Sweetheart, listen to the peanut gallery, you look very edible...(Rain just laughs as Tyler pushes her out the door whispering in her ear) Good luck red....(Closing the door behind her)

Rain: (Fixing her hair and dress as she opens her arms, showing Jason) Pretty spiffy huh!!!

Jason: (Staring at her in awe as he fumbles for the handle on his truck and then trips over his own feet as he gets out) WOW....I know this is going to be the most corny, over-used line ever but I have to say it...You have to be an angel...

Rain: (Sarcastically joking) Oh stop...(Waving her hand at him) No autographs please....(As Jason gives her a quick hug and puts his arm around her)

Jason: (Opening the door for her and closing his eyes as he breathes in the smell of her hair) There it is...the smell...

Rain: (Rolling her eyes and looking back at him with a laugh as she climbs in the truck) You know that is never gonna stop being disturbing...

Jason: (Shrugging his shoulder with a smile as he closes the door) Yes...(Sarcastically) but thats why you love me....

(Jason then follows Tyler's instructions to make the best night of Rain's life come true...As the night sky starts to crawl in the couple pulls up to Rain's favorite thing in her life...)

Rain: (Looking out the window as she turns to Jason with a big smile) What are we doing here??? How did you...

Jason: (Parking the truck as they get out) Well, your best friend is a really cool guy...He told me you loved the Temple Art Museum..So here we are...

Rain: (Looking around at the empty lot) Yeah ok...but it closes at five...Its seven..you're kinda late romeo...

Jason: (As two more cars pull up...A very expensive looking mercedes benz and a range rover and Jason looks at his watch) Huh, a little late...

Rain: (Looking very scared and nervous) Ummm...Ok...Are you like in the mob or something???

Jason: (Laughing as he puts his arm around Rain and walks her over to the three older gentlemen) Just come over here and meet somebody...

Rain: (Recognizing one of the men and almost passing out as she gives Jason a big hug) Oh my god!!!! Thats....Thats.....

Jason: (Smiling with the other men as she hugs him) Yeah, yeah...Webster Welnor...We all know who it is...

Rain: (Covering her mouth in excitement as she cowars before the man she has idolized most of her life...Mr. Welnor shakes her hand as she shakes in excitement) Mr. Welnor...you have no idea what you mean to me...Your paintings have inspired me so much in so many ways...You are...

Welnor: Ok, ok...enough about me...Jason here should be the one to thank...(Shaking Jason's hand) Good to see you son...

Jason: (Smiling at Rain) Yeah...well not really...call it fate or just dumb luck but my father just happens to be one of Mr. Welnor's main investors...(Rain just stares at Jason with nothing to say but her mouth agape with a huge smile)

Welnor: (Signalling the other two men to open the museum doors) So...Rain...that is a very unique and stunning name...

Rain: (Looking at Jason and Welnor in extreme excitement not knowing what to say) U..umm...Ha...yeah...you..your..ha...

Welnor: (As Jason shrugs his shoulders) Well my two friends are opening the museum just for you tonight...There is a suprise inside that I think you are going to love more than this....

Rain: (As Jason takes her hand and they walk inside) Um...I extremely doubt it sir...(Leaning her head on Jason's shoulder and kissing his cheek) I can't believe this...

Jason: Well I had to find a way to break you out of that shell...I guess its working...

(The group walks inside as they start looking at different paintings and Rain describes every detail of her favorite ones...Then they go into one last exibit where there is a painting covered up on the wall..)

Welnor: Well Rain I must say for a fifteen year old girl you know alot about art...And now the owners of this museum along with myself would like to present you with the final piece on the tour...Something fresh and new to the museum that Mr. Marsh brought to our attention...

Jason: (As Rain just looks at the covered painting in confusion) This is my gift to you...Gentlemen if you would...(The two men uncover the painting and it is one of Rain's own paintings)

Rain: (Yelling and jumping into Jason's arms) Oh my god!!! Oh my god!!!! (Running over to the owners and hugging them as she starts to calm down and slowly backs away, staring up at her painting..covering her mouth as tears start rolling down her eyes) There is no way...(Looking at Jason as he wipes her tears away) This is the greatest night of my life...

(And it was...it really was....Never had I been just completly swept off my feet like that before...Nor did I think anybody ever could...We sealed that perfect night with the perfect kiss...Kinda like one of those princess bride kisses...You know the one....Anyways, after that night everything just started falling into place in my life...I became the coolest chick in high school, prom queen, even though I turned it down...And all these people were kissing my a*s for nothing...It was funny...Girls started dressing like me, wearing jeans trying to match the holes in mine...It was pretty pathetic but me and Ty ate it up....By the time I graduated Jason was 22 and was already considered one of the most important CIA agents, he was involved in covert, black-ops, undercover s**t...I was seriously engaged to James Bond...My hubby was a damn government prodigy...Myself on the other hand...well after me and Jason got married after I graduated we moved to Washington, DC...and...well...I was back to being alone again...Jason was always away doing important CIA type stuff in different states and countries so I only got to see him maybe once or twice a month sometimes....But it was alright because I always knew I could trust him and he always trusted me...Plus I guess it was kinda good for our relationship, only being able to see each other once or twice in a month...Jason always made it feel like that first date over again...But while he was gone....well....seeing that I let my grades slip in school I ended up getting a job as an intern for one of Jason's father's companies...Tyler said I was like a glorified secretary...I missed him sooo much...I would get sooo depressed when Jason was gone...I even resorted to being an avid viewer of The Real World....YIKES!!! What the hell was I becoming?!?! Three years later while I was knee deep in being an alcoholic who smoked a pack a day and was on the brink of losing my love, my pathetic job, and my own life, which was of course by choice....HE happened....I will never forget the moment that would knock my life inside out and upside down more than Jason or Webster Welnor ever could...It was the night of my 21st birthday after a very romantic dinner with my Jason...He always found me when he was around...Ya know...the real me...But to be honest, the real me wasn't even the real me.....It all started with one of those situations where you are convinced your dreaming but you just can't wake up...)

Rain: (Sleeping snuggled up next to Jason in thier bed, looking very at ease..All of a sudden she jumps up, startled from a noise she hears in the room) What the hell was that??? (Looking around the room in a panic) Jason?!?! Jason!!! (Shaking him, trying to wake him but he doesn't budge)

Very speedy story progression i feel it would of been nice to hear more about there high school and her childhood. This girl seems important somehow , maybe you should draw and play on that a little, dropping little hints and points about it , nothing obvious... ive already noticed a sutble one unless you didn't mean it to be so lol.
But once again a fantastic chapter, this story is taking me on a rollecoaster , i find it brilliant that i am not able to as such predict the next events, that i am just as suprized as your protagonist.
I think if you verbalise that she was an alcoholic, and a heavy smoker then we need to see more off it because we've jumped from the innocent childhood highschool to an alcholic with no evidence.
Lovely work, im crossing my fingers that you have fhinshed this just so i get to read it all in one go .. if not NEVER GIVE UP ON THIS PIECE ITS AMAZING

LoL The reason I fast forward through the highschool thing is because its really not that important to the story...It just shows the budding of a relationship, Tyler and Rain as friends and as characters....Although I should've noted that this is not that far into the future...Many reasons surround why Rain has turned to alcohol...The loss of her mother and father, a not so healthy relationship...And although she may be tough on the outside, Rain is a very soft hearted person on the inside...Thank you so much I am humbled by your reviews

Oh i dont mean delve into great detail ... although after reading your work later on you should definatly establish jenni and Rain's relationship right at the start, thinking on it now from what was seen here there isn't enough between them to have hated her so much... not enough confrontation or time together at all.

And yes i understand why she is an alcoholic you have very clearly explained that i have no holes there. But i mean more there are no signs of it , we are just suddenly plunged into oh she's a heavy drinker now .. it akes sense it fits into the plot i just feel there is something missing inbetween.

The main reason Jenni and Rain hate each other so much is because well first of all they are everything each other hates...One is a fake follower who needs attention and is popular, the other is very grunge and doesn't care what people think, hates fake people, and not so popular...Also Rain steals the guy that Jenni was drooling over...

Yeah thats the concensus Gothic, but I wanted to skip the boring parts...I know girls love seeing beautiful weddings and stuff like that but this is more about action and what Rain really is.....The character that is Rain Hope Barnaby is very sarcastic...She always made the best of life, she was always happy, its just that the things that went bad in her life she wanted to make them seem horrible...But really she is one of those people that is like eh....who cares...Jason did make her life very interesting lets just put it that way....Thanks for the review btw...I really appreciate it...You know I will always do my best to review your writes..

I don't see Rain being that insecure and unable to have a life while Jason's gone! She just seems more together than that! Gee, I must really be getting into your characters! The story is going well, but it seemed like the part from her first date with Jason to them being married and him being a CIA agent was rushed through.
