Only One Gun (Look)

Only One Gun (Look)

A Poem by Mattrickk
"

Wrote this about my stepfather who took his life in 2004

"

Look at you sittin there,
Your thoughts colliding.
Look at the way you sit and stare.
Death in your eyes igniting.
Look at how your face is worn bare,
On the decision your deciding.

How did feel when you poored your pain into that, last shot of whiskey?
How did it feel before you took that gun, in your hands?
Did you take one last breath?
Did you hold it in?
Did you wonder what kinda s**t this would put me in?

Look at the way I sit and stare.
Look at my face so horrified and scared
Look at the way my tear fell to the ground.
Look at me crying without a sound.
It was only a matter of time.

Something had to break,
You just had to break!

Look at us sittin here,
Look at us sitting so far away.
Look at us sittin here,
Look at us so far away.
Look at us sittin here,
Now you're gone away...
