A short chapter but i thought the ending was too good a chance to pass up as a chapter ending and i didnt want to ruin it by continuing on with what is now the begining of the 3rd chapter

Chapter 2

Return

“Does Ryan have to come with us this time?” Amy whined loudly.

“Dear god it’s started already” Daniel muttered and Amy stuck her tongue out at him. None of us bothered to answer Amy as we all knew the answer. It had been made very clear to us that we would all return to Germo at some point and the fact that we were all in the same place at the same time after obviously magical events made it clear we were meant to return together. Suddenly there was a burst of Bright light and as I covered my eyes with my arm the bright light seemed to draw an arched door in front of us when it was finished the light faded I walked up to the door and ran my hand over the marking on the wooden frame as I read them.

“Gooy oh kre Rinr Mpxgl” I said before repeating it in English “Door of the High Lands”

“Sounds like fun” Daniel stated.

“One way to find out” Ryan said and stepping past me he wrenched open the door and stepped through. Despite expecting this situation and knowing I would have to return I hesitated because while a part of me yearned for the adventure and danger that stepping through the door would give me another part of me just wanted a normal life. Amy stepped up beside me and took my hand.

“Come on we can do it together” she told me quietly in a voice that said she understood. I stood there quietly for a second seeing the fierce determination in her eyes and I admired her for that out of all of us I believed she had the most reason to hesitate. The first time we had gone to this new world she had been pulled unwillingly into it. I had immediately convinced the others to follow me in and bring her back we at least had had the choice… Amy hadn’t. I nodded slightly to Amy and then together hand in hand we stepped through and as Amy’s hand slipped from mine despite both of us trying desperately to hold on to each other darkness took me.
