One and the Same

One and the Same

A Poem by Matt Pellegrini

One and the Same

All of my love or all of my lies

Which is the one that you most despise?

The lies that break your trust,

Destroys and tears our bonds

Or the love that envelops you,

Supports and keeps us strong?

The love that suffocates,

Smothers until you can't breathe

Or the lies that keep you happy,

Faithful to me?

My frivolous fibs and amorous ardor will both bring you pain

My lies and my love, both one and the same.
