A First Love Pushed Away

My turmoil with my first love being pushed away...

We used to be so close hun,

You were my everything.

I though about you from the rise of the sun,

And I knew that you did the same.

 

We could have gone so far hun,

But I just had to make it wait.

I was so nervous to try and move on,

You got scared and it was to late.

 

            You were scared that I would push you away,

            So in turn you did the very same to me.

            Shoving me down to just be friends to stay.

            Even though you truly loved me.

 

We could have had such love hun,

But now we rarely ever talk.

I want to turn away and just be done.

But now I’m to scared to walk.

 

We are now a lost love hun,

We’re both too afraid to make it work.

I love you more than anyone,

Now heartbreak and pain lurk.

 

            Though every time we see one another,

we smile and say hello.

We both hurt so bad the pain smothers,

A pain… we won’t let show.
