Regrets

Regrets

A Poem by Matthew Ryan Hardy

I don’t want to regret that I didn't do something

Something that has been on my mind for awhile

Day by day I slowly build up my courage

Courage to stand up and fight for what I want

As the nights get shorter and the days get longer

I long to see your hand entangled in mine

While I stand here and expose my feelings

Feelings that I’ve had for many years

Your beautiful smile

Your dark brown eye

I open my heart fully

Fully to you

Regret is more painful than rejection in old age.
"As the nights get shorter and the days get longer
I long to see your hand entangled in mine "
We must attempt our heart will or always wished we did. Was good to see your poem today. Thank you Matthew for sharing the excellent poetry.
