Power of Love

Love is a word tossed around so much

That the meaning it once held is no longer there

Love once had so much power behind it to move a mountain

To chance the mind of a simple soldier going to war

Now it is in our everyday life

Being thrown at everything from cars to people we have never met

Change the way that you use the word

So the power can come back

I want to be able to one day to tell my wife I love her

Her knowing from that one word how much she means to me

In my hear that word is already as strong as it once was

Don't you just love that "Love" has a different meaning now a days? It's more like I have been with you for about three seconds and I know nothing about you but I am so in "love" with you. Great poem as always. You really brought up an excellent point in this writing =)

It drives me crazy when you hear younger people say that they have fallen in love, but they are not with that person anyone. They say things just change, so they have fallen in love with someone else. I don't believe you have the right to say you have fallen in love with that person until you spend the rest of your life with that person.
