It Once Happened

It Once Happened

A Poem by Matthew Ryan Hardy
"

I really can't believe that I got over her so quick. I still have a heart for her and I'm glad that we can still be friends

"

I’m pretty surprised that I moved on so quickly

I never would have thought that my love would vanish

One minute I loved you

The next I was just your friend

I still kind of miss the late night talks

The long walks and the smile on your face

But I can say that I’m really glad that you’re still happy

And that I could be there when you needed someone most

I will always have love for you

But in a different way

The one that you can get from a brother

That will protect you always

I hope we still can build a relationship

One built on trust

Maybe one day in the distant future

We “Might” be a couple side by side

A sad poem. It is hard when people change. I like the desire to be friends. There was hope in the closing lines. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Very Interesting. Some times love is strange that way first you like them then love them and sometimes you just fall out of love and just want to be friends. I wish you well on your future!
