Heart break

I wrote this for a very close friend of mine who was hurt recently. I hope it can help brighten someone else's day as well.

I wish I knew the words to say,

That would make your pain flutter away,

To make the hurt just disappear,

By saying something to listen to and hear,

To make you happy, to make you smile,

To make you know that youre worth the while,

But alas I don't, I can't make it all right,

A broken heart lasts longer than just one night,

It stings and pains and hurts so much more,

'Til you fall crying to the hard wooden floors,

But one thing I know and its so very true,

I will always be here my friend,

Because, that's what friends do.
