Never Met

Never Met

A Poem by Matt Daalling
"

"Never Met" is about feeling a connection to a total stranger. A look given to you by someone, and the feeling that follows. Connections can be forged in moments and undone just as fast. Enjoy.

"

Tell me the story of your sorrow.

How deep do the roots of your pain go?

Explain to me how we got here.

Diving into a shallow pool of deep conversation:

Tell me stranger, A strange story with your eyes.

Tell me, How can i feel your absence when we've only just met?

Tell me, Why does time remain our best friend and worst enemy?

Sitting across from me on the train, avoiding my eyes but compelled to glance.

Tell me stranger, why haven’t we yet met?

Wonderful emotions in your poem...its funny, I get many glances, and yet we don't meet, only wonderment...At times, I don't give it a second thought, and in others, I feel just like your poem. Nicely done.

Very profound. Reminds me of the maxim: "A stranger is a friendyou have yet to meet."

I call is kismet. The force pulling you into the depths of a stranger, but one who you feel as if you born to meet, is a powerful one. I really enjoyed this. It was like reading the inner monologue of your psyche.
