One Sided

One Sided

A Poem by Matt Daalling
"

Love is a great and powerful thing. If not nurtured it can eat away at you. Love is not all butterflies in your stomach, it can be and is very dangerous if not taken care of. So take care. Enjoy.

"

One Sided

Have I fallen from grace or just fallen in love? Is the spirit of passion just a curse from above?

Is the mind of a lover so intense and obscured, that his hearing is muffled and his vision now blurred?

So is love just a catalyst of sweet ignorant bliss? Does her gentle perfume just disguise deadly mist?

Is this feeling a drug causing pain and addiction? Has this ever been real or just nonsense and fiction?

Are these question one sided never meant to be answered? Is the rapture of love just soul eating cancer?

Can I see past the pain? Can I seek out your face? Can I race to the roof top and scream out in disgrace?

Can forgiveness be taught? Can I purge the forgotten? Has my memory faded or my soul just gone rotten?

Can I ever be one? Will I ever be whole? If the answer is no, leave my story untold.
