Broken Jar

Broken Jar

A Poem by Jesse Lancaster
"

Being a recluse is unoriginal.

"
I've known it was broken,
yet it couldn't be fixed.
Collected the pieces and
held it with glue,
but the cracks shone through.

Nothing breaks like your smile,
nothing tears like your eyes.
Feel myself   s   e  p a r a t
limb from limb, try to slow it down.
Feel myself e

r
a
s
e
Stop.

Fake a grin, pretend
it's just a colour,
just a lighter shade of another
and doesn't bother you
like it should.
