Elmer's Glue Forever

Elmer's Glue Forever

A Poem by Jesse Lancaster
"

Prescribed feels.

"
"it's too late
you're in my head"
leaving the party at 9PM,
we're just talking
in the back of the car
about the bands we like
and when I think the world will end
but that night
and the shorter ones in between
they were nothing,
feelings that came and went
so we both stopped reading each other's poems,
we both pretend.

It doesn't hurt that much,
I just wanted to point it out.
I was only home
for a couple months,
by then it was too late
and even then, you'd agree
that there weren't many feeling at all,
a mutual hurt followed by lust
a voice to compliment you in your time of need
I'm not enough.
