Crossroad

Crossroad

A Poem by Matthew Bass

I see no light at the crossroad
because the coast is still months away,
but my feet stopped aching days ago

The more I walk
the less the cold wind
drags against my weary skin

Vacant men walk by
deadbolted to their feet,
and grab at everything
I´ve "dropped"
as they walk into the darkness
I´ve passed; The past

While I move forward
free, alive, naked

and blind.

About
