Exhuberant

Exhuberant

A Poem by Matthew Bass

Uncle Matt, Uncle Matt!
We need more leaves
to make the applesauce.
Hold down the branch,
there is not enough leaves.
We need to get more.

Uncle Matt, are you coming back tommorrow?
"No, I have to leave".
So, you´re coming back tommorrow.

Uncle Matt, I´m going to Africa with you.
Do they eat cheetahs there?
Hey! Then we can go camping.
I´ll bring my turtle nightlight
because we need to be prepared.
Don´t forget the map
so we don´t get lost.
Oh boy! We´re going to be prepared.

Uncle Matt (holding back tears)
I don´t want you to leave anymore.
No one understands how I am
they always laugh at me.

Uncle Matt, can Brian come with us.
I used to be afraid of him
but not anymore
he made the stegosaurus pee.
Look at my finger
I broke the skin.

About
It´s funny how we think we are all on the cusp of something, and just have not been recognized yet. I am no different. I don´t really care all that much, but at the same time I do care. .. more..
