Fifteen Minute Drive

Written for a prompt: Write for 15 minutes without stopping. Do not look up words. Make up words if you have to or write gibberish.

She lifts her head and looks at the sky, the sun burning bright, the heat beating down at her skin. She could not find shelter from the heat, her skin turned pinker with each minute she spent exposed to the rays of sunshine. Her eyes burned from the intensity of the light, red at the edges and somewhat dry. Her clothes are sticking to her body, wet patches growing bigger under her armpits and on her back. Her bra seems heavier and more uncomfortable from the sweat that's collecting at the bottom of the black and yellow cups.

She closes her eyes and heaves a sigh, chest moving up and down. She keeps breathing even though the dry and hot air burns her lungs, sits heavily on her chest- like some sort of burden instead of a feather it usually felt like.

The sky was cloudless, there was no wind to bring the fluffy masses of white, gray and almost black. The grass lost color and the ground was dry, hard and cracked. No water, no breeze- only sun and the damned heat, the heaviness of despair in ones heart and soul. There was pain, loss, confusion and fear, desires and wants for more, for less, for escape and safety.

She falls down to her knees, feet blistered and bloody. She falls forward, hands prepared to keep her from kissing the ground and braking her teeth or nose. The force of the impact makes her arms tremble. She is weak, so, so weak. Thirsty. Hungry. Empty. Numb.

She is ready for death. She wants to let go but her body won't allow it. Her body fights the impending doom. Black spots flicker in her eyes. She can't breathe. Her heart aches, her bones and muscles are screaming in pain. It is agony. Sweet, sweet agony of fading.

Darkness is growing. It is no longer flickering dots but a veil, soft and gentle.

She closes her eyes.

MH
I cheated and threw out most of the lines I wrote because I wanted to have something which flows better.
