Waves

People fight against the tide
Against the waves
Which try, eternally, 
To crash them against
The cliffs of Time. 

Again and again
The storms rise
To sweep and crush
Hopes away.

And we still struggle, 
We find the strength, 
The will to move on
But
Sometimes
The waves carry us away.
