A melancholy in fall

A melancholy in fall

A Poem by Christian Meffert
"

I really don't remember writing this. Weird.

"
A melancholy in fall
Winter dead
The past forgotten
Fall dying
A present rotting
It lingers, the muck and mildew
A far more depressing venture
Cold enough to penetrate the skin
Though not enough to envelope us
To allow us to adapt
The body craves one or the other
It rejects the middle line.
