Into the inkwell

Into the inkwell

A Poem by Massey

I'll set fire to the skies
Lighting our eyes in the drift of darkness
You may welcome the night
But I fear it.

A fear so dreadful
For I know when the moon magnifies its light.
There will be no way to save me.

To drift off
Leave it all behind
I salute you
Your double life
Eyes closed
Out of my sight
Remember
I love you.

The night may have brought you to them
But I make sure this heavy heart saves the day

And as you sleep
dreaming drastically for undetermined adventures
Slip your quill into the inkwell
And create yourself a love undefined
Your dreams will set the stage
Of our love set over time.

I thought this was really wonderful. At the same time, I'm not at all sure exactly what it's talking about. If I were to hazard a guess. I'd say it's using night as an analogy to ink, for both are black. And through out the lines, it's the writers ode to the creations that come from the night ink, and how combined with the writer who walks in the daylight.... They are able to form a great work together..

Thanks how I saw it anyhow..:)
