Autistic and AWESOME!

My nephew is Autistic
And may be a puzzle to some
But his family knows him very well
And to us he’s number one

He can be quite a handful
Though, every moment with him is well spent
A spontaneous ball of energy
He’s truly heaven sent

 He may not be as verbal as other kids
But he communicate in various ways
His animated antics
Will have you laughing for days

 Tons of hugs and kisses
He love to give as much as receive
He’s a handsome little fella
And smart like you wouldn’t believe

 Although at times he has his days
When he’s not in a very good mood
And if you don’t give him a little space
You’ll get plenty of attitude

 Sometimes he seem to be in a fog
Bright lights & loud noise bring him to tears
These are the times when he needs us most
To hold him and calm all his fears

 Autism makes him different
But different doesn’t make him a freak
If anyone believes that to be the case
Then clearly THEIR thinking is weak

 It’s important to spread awareness
So that the proper research is done
Understanding & acceptance are needed
Before this battle can ever be won.
