Six Weeks of Winter

Six Weeks of Winter

A Poem by Mason

Inside my hole,
I feel so safe,
so warm and calm.

I dream and dream
about facing my fears,
but when I confront them,
I crawl back in.

This world is too scary,
and despite the advice
and the encouragement
to experience life,
I am too afraid.

I leave my hole.
I see the world.
I retreat again.

It's going to be another six weeks of winter.
