The Soul Cycle

The Soul Cycle

A Poem by Mason

These gems of souls,
Compare them all,
What shines, dulls,
What's dull is dull.
Go on, do as you please,
You've always done that,
Ignoring souls' pleas,
Who cares,
As long as you're fat?

Pompous, and full,
Your gems glitter brightly,
Though your gem remains dull,
You grip those gems tightly.
Absorbing their brilliance,
You still remain dull,
You've missed your chance,
Forever, though you stall.

Those gems continue to dull,
So you go to find more,
Decorate yourself for all,
They see only what you adorn.
Devitalizing those gems,
Can't be forgiven with hymns,
Too late to make amends,
Your gem, forever, dull.
