LeavesA Poem by MaskedthoughtsI feel like a torn leaf in the midst of fall Floating across the forest floor Avoiding the crushing footfalls of the pass buyers I feel small and lost I wonder where I’ve gone? I search the great valleys for a sign of myself For a glimmer of the truth I search the thick blades of grass Trying to understand why everything feels so crass Im searching and searching I don't know what to find I feel like I've lost my mind. I’m spinning and spinning Like the breeze on the water I long to be rooted like the trees To know how to sway to the breeze Instead of falling to my knees I learned from the leaves Now it's time to find myself and travel to the wide open seas I feel like a fawn emerging into the light for the first time at dawn Stumbling through the flowers getting stronger with the hours Finding my inner power and blooming like the closed up flower. Slowly I trek on through the woods and into the open Promising to always remember the great forest bloom Knowing I’ll be back soon. © 2015 MaskedthoughtsReviews
