Wallflower

Wallflower

A Poem by Maskedthoughts

I don’t want to be the wallflower;

Swaying in the corner, wilting by the minute till it’s a pile of thorns.

I want to the orchid blooming in the center brightening with each ray of love,

I want to be the rose that has roots firmly planted in the ground,

I want to be the lily that is watered with confidence.

       ---I Want to be the flower that belongs in the garden.

i love this piece, i want to say remember that you're always the orchid, rose, and lily in somebody's life! what i like about this poem is that although it is short, you managed to put so much explanation of your desire to be more confident (from what i understand). one piece of constructive criticism that i would like to suggest is maybe adding more imagery to the picture of the wallflower, in order to contrast that of the flowers in the garden. either way, the message crosses in a beautiful way. thank you for sharing :)
