I Wished

I Wished

A Poem by Maskedthoughts

I wished upon a star; we’re just trying to figure out who we are.

I caught a snowflake on my tongue; we’re just trying to live while we’re young.

I threw a penny in a fountain; we’re just trying to climb this mountain.

I crossed my fingers behind my back; we’re just trying to see what it is that our lives lack.

I cracked a wish chip with my teeth; we’re just trying to see what lies underneath.

We’re all just trying to understand this world.

We’re all just trying to see where we fit.

We’re all just trying to find each other-in an endless forever.

I love your poetry! This sort of reminds me of how we try to retain childhood innocence but sometimes are forced to grow up. Everybody wants to fit in with everybody else in the world but the world needs to remember that every piece of the puzzle is unique.
