Darling, I knowA Poem by MaskedthoughtsPoisonous
Don't let their words bring you down darling
Don't look at yourself the way they see you Don't sink down with them Darling, it's all right Darling, you're alright. Don't let them deflate your dreams Don't let their opinion matter Darling, I know they are supposed to be there for you But they're not And darling, I know it hurts Darling I know you feel alone and out of place But it's okay because you're going somewhere --------------------------------------------------------- What is a friend anymore? I thought a friend was someone who was loyal And always had your back A person who didn't judge you or make you feel insecure I thought a friend boosted you up I thought a friend is what I am to you. But darling oh you are the farthest thing from Do you know you have made tears fall from my eyes? Made me feel like I just wanted to die, Did you know how much I gave up so you could have it I gave him up for you I gave different parts of myself up for all of you And I'm left here Alone, with nothing but my aching soul And you have the audacity to tell me I don't care Well just wait because I will find people who Appreciate me; Love me; Respect me And then you will miss me But until then I am stuck in this labyrinth Screaming silently, Hating you more and more each day. It's all fake, this all fake As fake as your plastic smile Every word you utter is dripping with acid One day you will be revealed until then I will write my secrets away And pray for the day When I can finally run away From you, from here; from everything. © 2013 MaskedthoughtsAuthor's Note
