Bitter Sweetness

Bitter Sweetness

A Poem by Maskedthoughts

Bitter sweetness swirling around
As my heart falls to the ground
Death and darkness growing at night
As my tears fight their way down
Bitter sweetness everywhere
The past is tangled in my hair
No dear, life is never fair
Go sit down in that chair
Washing the sins from my face
As my thoughts start to pace
Screams from my past ringing in my ears
Passing through all my fears
Darling, I’ve been there
Put the sheers away,
Body starts to lock down
State of shock is coming my way
All emotions drip away
As numbness, nothing replaces its space
I begin to face
What has happened in the past
And what is happening all around me
Learning how to let it be
And how to accept me for me
So worried about everyone else
Can’t even take care of herself
Bitter sweetness everywhere
As she lays with roses in her hair
