Give Me Lilies

Give Me Lilies

A Poem by Marzolina
"

Give me lilies... just a few.

"

Hello there, my sweet heart,

here it comes the finest part.

Yes, you told me, good for you:

so give me lilies, just a few.

Must be white, must be pure

must be pale, fresh and new.

Pick them from that field

yes, indeed, my pain was healed.

And now I can forgive you,

but give me lilies, just a few.

You're right: it was my fault

give me lilies, as white as salt.

Sure, sure, I was so wrong

give me lilies, hear this song.

It tells about a man so brave

that picked lilies for his grave.
