Gardeners Are Psychopaths

Squiggles, which we have come to standardize and codify as letters, words, sentences, stanzas and punctuation.

Gardeners Are Psychopaths
Mark Pearce (c) 2009

       Gardeners are natural psychopaths.

       They love the beautiful butterfly
       While hating the infantile larvae.

They cherish the out of doors
While seeking to break it to their will.

They love rabbits and turtles and squirrels
As long as they’re on someone else’s patch.

       Tally reader.
These are not simple preferences I’m recounting
But a listing of traits underlying
       Intense and intractable rage.

       Many beheadings have occurred because
A strawberry looks just as good to a turtle
As it does to the gardener of two minds.

Hey now, don't be bagging on us gardners! (Although every word was true...LOL)

I actually plant to bring nature to my garden. I'm glad to share my strawberries.

Great write, fun to read, lots to think about.
