I Can Live Without Your Love

I Can Live Without Your Love

I won't be using all 255 characters, because I have nothing to say here.

I can live without your love –
But only for two minutes.
(I’d live longer without breath.)

I can go on without you –
But it wouldn’t be as fun
And there'd be more scarring.

I can face the day without you –
As long as the sun doesn’t rise
And the moon doesn’t rise
And the bread doesn’t rise
And the questions don’t arise
And I don’t rise
In the morning.

Okay.  Okay.
It’s settled.
I can’t live without your love.

My defenses rest.

Great! I just read two poems about deception in love and yours is so positive and honest! It is reassuring to know that this kind of feeling does good, still, to people. Sometimes one can see so much loneliness in the writings in this forum that whenever something warm and yet witty comes along, one should but thank and encourage the writer to give us more! Thank you, Mark!!!

I like how you contradict yourself by showing life is temporary at best without the person you love. I am not sure you need that tag at the end, it is very apparent you can't really live without the love you desire.

If you were going for a little humor, or to make fun of your dramatic self stating you CAN live without
"your" love - when you know that is impossible - I suppose it works, but if it were me - I'd clip that part and the dough rising.

this is so different from other pieces you have written. interesting. it's hard to write love. I like the simple very honest message here. clear, true. i love the line (but only for two minutes)
very nice.
I feel like you displayed yourself here differently than I have seen before. I like it.

I LOVE IT! A oxymoron as a poem, or a poem as a oxymoron, either way very clever.

"And the bread doesn't rise" my favorite line. Who needs the other 255?
