I love these! Haiku, to me, are like finger food. You can just devour absolute pages of them! They are terrific reading when you have the "munchies" - not too filling, you can stop anytime, and they're simply delicious! Applause, applause! Author, author! And, oh yeah, please don't stop with just these - continue, maestro!

Not being set in nature your poems differ from the traditional. I like the first haiku a lot a lovely self contained poem. The humour in the second is great, I think the message in the third and the fourth is clever but I think these would be easier to read if you didn't use capitals to commence every line.
Peanut Butter is
best when licked off the fingers
(Elbows, knees and toes.)
I pledge allegiance
But my flag is often used
to conceal the truth.
I wrote a poem.
But it stuck to the pages
like a lollypop.
This made me smile for a reason that is elusive to me yet I think you may know why. Thank you for making me smile...they are so far and few between sometimes.
Light,
Siddartha
Hi Mark - I just love the thought patterns here. All have stong imagery and I adore the thought of licking peanut butter from elbows, knee and toes. As for the sticky lollypop poem BRAVO it make me smile - some many poems stick and no matter how you try, they stay stuck. next time one of mine stick, maybe I should just lick it.
Great imagery in it all - " I takes me hat off to you - Mark" - hope you enterd into the Waka Waka Waka contest.
I am happy to introduce the presentation line-up for the 2009 Montserrat Poetry Festival, to be held at Montserrat Vineyards, Montserrat, Missouri on Sunday afternoon, May 3rd, 2009.
