The optimist's summer

The optimist's summer

A Poem by Maryam

The wind, it kissed my hair
With its cool and tender touch
Happily whistling as it danced freely, without a care
It adorned its surroundings with the purest beauty

Sunlight stroked the clouds so dearly
As it appeared to brighten many a land
Beams of light filtered through the trees' crisp leaves
Giving shade to all who passed

Bursts of red, white and yellow flowers
They were scattered so perfectly for miles on end
Glittering like crystals under the spotlight
Greeted all with their welcoming scent

The occasional white cloud floated by
Against a backdrop of unadulterated blue
I couldn't help but smile
It was summer in my world.
