A pessimist's natureA Poem by Maryam
Beyond these few panes of glass
Is a world just waiting to be explored She realised as she sat on the window sill It had all been ignored The clouds were no longer pure and white They had been replaced with billows of smoke The wind was shrieking in anger As it tortured a single oak tree The sun appeared no longer Once blazing with a fiery passion It had illuminated the paths of many Now, its light extinguished. Darkness prevailed. Birds that used to chirp and sing No longer graced the sky Flowers that were caressed by the wind's embrace Existed no more.
